Publications

The materials in this series focus on the development of and additional research on direct drive arms, including Direct Drive Arm I & II, both developed at CMU. The series is divided into four sub-series: Research proposals and project work, publications, presentations, and patents. The research proposals sub-series includes notes, reports, project proposals, design information, and other materials related to the development of CMU’s direct drive arms. The publications series is mostly reference materials, articles on flexible manipulators and robots in manufacturing. The presentations sub-series includes transparencies for overhead projectors and miscellaneous graphic materials on direct drive arms. The patent sub-series includes research and patent application documentation for the patent on Direct Drive Arm I. Materials in each sub-series are sorted chronologically. Both Direct Drive Arm I & II are on display in Newell-Simon Hall on CMU's campus.
